Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management, launched the Smart Panel concept to ensure sustainable energy savings in buildings. Smart Panel is a simple to deploy plug and play solution contributing towards addressing the urgent need to curb energy costs and meet norms for green buildings. The Smart Panel was introduced to the customers at an event held in Delhi this week, and the company will hold similar launches in 10 more cities in the country in coming days.

Speaking to HospitalityBiz, Kshitij Batra, Director-Marketing, Partner Projects Business, Schneider Electric India said that the new Smart Panel is relevant to all sorts of buildings starting from hi-end residential to hotels, hospitals, malls, industrial set ups, etc. The company is offering complete family of Smart Panels to buildings starting from the PCC (Power Control Centre) level to the PDB (Power Distribution Board) level. He said that these Smart Panels are equipped to facilitate energy management and ultimately savings on energy consumption in a building by controlling and addressing deficiencies at network management, level, asset management level and energy management level. “All these management systems are seamlessly connected via Ethernet and therefore can be monitored and controlled with the help of iPhones, smart phones, tablets, or a dedicated landline,” he said. He said that the company is also in the process of developing dedicated app going forward.

Talking specifically on the advantages of Smart Panels in a hotel environment, Batra said that the system will enable hotels to understand the energy consumption pattern each room, wing, department of the hotel, and take corrective measures if warranted. The system, Batra said, can deliver up to 30% of savings in energy consumption in buildings depending on the quality of electrical installations.

“With the government’s focus on developing smart Cities, products like Smart Panels, which ensure energy management in a simple way, become extremely important since energy efficiency and improving quality of life while maintaining an ecological balance is the basis of all Smart Cities,” he said.
