Winning the Employee Loyalty

Hiring employees is only the first step in employer-employee relationship. Major challenge is in getting that relationship going in a healthy and fruitful way such that employees hired are stayed for a long time.

Building a relationship with the employees is an imperative aspect of being the employer of choice. One needs to ensure that the employees get work-life balance so as to guarantee better productivity. Not only this, the employees have to be provided with good quality tools because it is requisite to accept the fact that inadequate tools hinder the work of a skilled employee. For instance, we cannot expect a beautifully delicious dish from a chef without providing the appropriate ingredients/ tools required to cook it.

Employee engagement activities play a crucial role in retaining an employee, because one needs to enjoy and love their work so as to continue performing better than before. We at Pride Plaza have numerous employee engagement activities from games, to having house specific activities with inter house competitions and different communities within the houses. We also organise a Town Hall at the end of every month, annual day celebration, along with a team outing once a year.

All these efforts put together helps one in becoming the employer of choice and trying to retain the best of the lot. Higher levels of loyalty will result in stronger relationships and a greater dedication to the quality of performance, quality of production, and quality of service. This higher level of quality, as well as reducing re-work, scrap, and after-sale problems, will build profitability for the company and pride for the employees.

We, at the Pride Plaza Hotel, Aerocity, New Delhi, aim to fulfill being “Employer of choice”, where in we try ensuring that our most talented employees continue to stay with us through their careers. It is true that more engaged employees will lead to higher retention, lower hiring costs, higher productivity, and eventually greater profits. This new employment relationship is based on the changing needs and interests of employees and organisations. It is important to understand that an employer of choice favours the well-being of employees. Realising the essence and importance of engaging employees, it is our paramount objective to give the best of everything available and help them strike a healthy balance between work and personal life.

In order to fulfill this, we have at work various programmes that help Pride Plaza in absorbing the best of the lot. To begin with, we have one of the most beneficial “open door policy”, wherein the employees are encouraged to come forward to share their grievances or issues brazenly. Communication plays a vital role in any organisation and employees who are involved with their organisations are proud of what they do and feel responsible for their quality of work. Keeping employee engagement in mind, we have various programmes that facilitate and promote the involvement of employees, for example employees having their birthdays/anniversaries are given personalised gifts along with a half day off to celebrate their special day. This gesture is a token of care from the organisation to our employees who work hard and ardently for the overall development of the organisation. To facilitate free and open communication, we also have the programme of “Coffee with GM”, wherein the employees get together for an informal coffee session with the General Manager and share their thoughts and ideas. The free flow of communication is also promoted through social networking sites from Facebook (Facebook at Work) to Whatsapp Groups such as Service Champion Group.

One of the most important criteria for an employee is the career path that lies ahead in future. For the continuous growth and development of our employees we have specialised outsourced training that caters to devoting atleast four hours per employee in a month. This is to secure the successful career path for every employee. To maintain the comfort level our human resources department provides guidance and direction to the employees and is available atleast twice a day for any interaction.
