Indian events and Entertainment Company, E Factor forms JV with Italian Filmmaster Events

Explore opportunities for creative events and installations in India’s tourism eco-system

E Factor, Delhi-based specialized events agency, which has its claim to fame for curating festivals and events like Pushkar Mela, Taj Balloon Festival, Udaipur Lake Festival, Amaravati Global Music & Dance Festival, etc., has joined hands with Italian Entertainment Network (IEN) promoted Filmmaster Events, which has to its credit creative works and ceremonial events including the Rio Olympics, and other mega sporting spectacles, to look for opportunities for designing and curating impactful social and ceremonial events and installations in India .

Announcing the partnership in Delhi, Samit Garg, CEO & Co-Founder of E-Factor and Andrea Francisi, COO, Filmmaster Events said that the coming together of the two companies would “usher in a paradigm shift” in both scale and creativity bringing international best practices even to India. Garg said that the JV can look at partnerships with governments to create creative installations at destinations to add value to the tourism offerings.

Francisi explained how their creative 3-D Projection show on the Siena Cathedral in Italy transformed Siena into an “overnight destination” for tourists. “Occupancies of hotels in the city went up by 20% after the show begun. The mindset has to change from what the hotels in the city offers to tourists to what the city offers,” he said. Destinations should engage the visitors and instill memories in them. Any event or installation can impact tourism positively, he added. Francisi said that they are a creative company and therefore wherever they go, they work with local partners . “We cannot create benchmarks not just by technology alone, we need strong local content to make the project appealing,” he said citing how they worked with a local company in Brazil for the creative light and sound show at Rio for Olympics around the Carnival theme. '

When asked about the standards of the light and sound show being done by government agencies at tourist destinations in India, Garg said that none of those show inspire people to spend an extra night or travel to destinations to watch the show. “Story telling is totally missing from a visual point of view in all those shows,” he said. The government and its agencies, including Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has to change their mindset to create impactful visual projections/installations at Indian monuments, he added.
