Gurugram local administration relaxes distance guideline for bars and hotels

In a major reprieve to the hotels and restaurants in the city of Gurugram in Haryana, the local administration has revised further the distance measurement guidelines. As per the revised guidelines, the distance will be measured from the gate of the bar inside the premises and not from the main entrance gate.

This is expected to benefit a number of hotels in the city which were not able to operate their bars since the Supreme Court ordered closure of all bars falling within 500 mtr distance from the State and National Highways.

Last month, the local administration measured the motorable distance from highway to any hotel or restaurant’s main entrance gate. But now, under revised instruction, the distance will be measured from the gate of the bar inside the premises and not from the main entrance gate.
