‘We offer more for less without compromising on the experience’

Justa hotels and resorts are best known for their properties offering a ‘luxury on budget’ experience. Their properties in Rajasthan have recently gained popularity for destination weddings. In an interview with Ashish Vohra, MD, Justa Hotels and Resorts, Kathryn B K learns more about the properties and their ‘luxury on budget’ offering.

Post his tenure with the Oberoi Group, Ashish Vohra founded Justa Hotels and Resorts in 2005. The company has grown organically through a mixture of own hotels, revenue share and management contracts. Justa represents a blend of Indian hospitality with international standards of luxury. “With a belief in individualised service, Justa offers a memorable experience conjoined with impeccable service, luxurious comfort and unique design philosophy,” says Vohra.

The ambition of the Justa brand is to be developed as an inspirational Indian brand which is aspirational, delivering outstanding contemporary experience. In this clutter of international and local brands, Vohra aims at creating a special niche for small luxury hotels, allowing Justa to be international in every way, with an Indian identity.

Offering luxury on budget
Justa has chosen to specialise within the hospitality industry by offering only experiences of exceptional quality. It creates properties of enduring value using superior design and finishes, and supports with a deeply instilled ethic of personal service, Vohra assures.

Luxury is directly associated with comfort. Justa provides lavish and opulent environs for the artistically inclined merge with the impressive softness of natural light to offer tangible luxury. “Every piece of furniture, furnishing and decor allow the senses to enjoy luxury of an extremely high comfort. Its luxury is seamless and efficient, yet extremely comfortable. Every detail has been individually treated with a sense of aesthetics, transcending functionality, transforming the daily experience into pleasure. This present-day lifestyle is supported by a wide range of services - wireless internet connection, restaurants with delicious cuisine and 24-hour room service,” affirms Vohra.

Justa’s USP
Keeping in mind the requirements and taste of the modern day clients, Vohra aspires to go beyond the concept of traditional banqueting and catering, so as to bring the best of everything, from outdoor catering, designer invitations, wedding favours, photography, videography and other allied services under one roof.

Justa launched ‘The Jehan’ concept in 2013. The word Jehan means the world. “It’s a modern take on the traditional wedding business primarily in terms of catering and the paraphernalia that goes with it,” says Vohra.

The concept of The Jehan goes beyond a specific location, but its flagship location is Delhi. In execution, The Jehan exists in Hyderabad, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Nathdwara, Bengaluru and Kundapur.

The halls and lawns at The Jehan, Delhi, have been named after the five elements that make up the “Jehan” i.e. Ether – Ambara, Air – Vayu, Fire – Vahini, Water – Niira, Earth – Prithvi, Energy – Urja.

Vohra claims that guests opting for an intimate, luxurious yet budgeted wedding find a perfect wedding location in Justa’s properties which offer lavish set-ups for functions and even tailor-made in-room experiences. The whole idea is to create an experience without having to spend as much as one would in a 5-star set up, basically, offering more for less without compromising on the experience.

Justa’s properties
Justa Hotels and Resorts have properties in Rajasthan, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kundapur. But, the properties in Rajasthan are its hot sellers when it comes to destination weddings. Apart from the existing properties, Vohra is also planning to expand in Rajasthan.

Justa Rajputana Udaipur has 54 luxurious rooms and villas that can accommodate about 165 guests. The four sprawling lawns with a capacity to host up to 1,000 guests, offer a beautiful setting to host theme based reception under starry skies and slow warm fires while artistes keep the guests entertained. They also arrange for thoroughbred horses that can be used for the grand entry of the groom.

Justa Brij Bhoomi, Nathdwara Resort is the ideal place to host the perfect destination weddings predominantly for locals from Gujarat and Marwaris who worship and revere Lord Shreenathji. With its palatial structure and luxurious interiors, the hotel promises a fairytale wedding. The resort provides exotic menus for different functions (if a typical Rajasthani wedding spread is your choice, then that is their speciality).

Similarly, Justa Lake Nahargarh is a royal summer Palace in the middle of a lake like a fairytale confection that seems to float on the lake’s waters only to make a befitting location for an unforgettable experience of an event as important as a wedding.

“We can plan the entire wedding by making arrangements, right from vintage cars, florists, special lightings, music selection to all other activities, which are a crucial part of a wedding. Everything will be arranged to look picture perfect. Justa Hotels and Resorts makes every effort required to run the show at a wedding,” states Vohra.

Expansion plans
Justa Hotels and Resorts are expanding over the last few years in Rajasthan and recently in Chennai. Vohra’s objective is to strengthen presence in the existing locations by scaling up; and is also open to explore new locations which have potential for growth. The latest addition to the Justa Group of Hotels and Resorts is “The Design Hotel” in Chennai, a 26 room boutique hotel.

Vohra says, “We are keen to explore tier-II and tier-III cities where there is a huge gap that will be befitting to a brand such as ours.”
