ITPO’s first ‘AHAAR’ Mumbai Edition commences at CIDCO Centre, Vashi

AAHAR Mumbai 2017, the International Food and Hospitality Fair from October 11-14, 2017 was inaugurated by Vijay Waghmare, IAS, Managing Director, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation at CIDCO Exhibition Centre, Vashi, Navi Mumbai, today. Present on the occasion were J. Gunasekeran, General Manager, India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and other Government officials, and participants. Vijay Waghmare, MD, MTDC said, "It was a privilege to be part of Aahar Mumbai edition of CIDCO. The diversity of exhibitors is great and the event has been organised meticulously. I wish ITPO officers all the best for all the future endeavours."

ITPO aims to replicate a regional version to the likes of the ‘AAHAR’ Delhi trade fair, to encourage trade and development in the sectors essential to the government’s plans to generate industry and employment in interiors regions. The fair will be sourcing new innovations, technologies, products and development in a fast-growing food processing as well as hospitality sector. The event also marks the setting-up of an exclusive ‘Investment Pavilion’ to unveil vast investment opportunities in hospitality sector.

The fair has been organized with support of the Ministry of Food Processing Industry of India and apex bodies like Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Association of Resource Companies for Hospitality Industry of India (ARCHII), Hotel and Restaurant Equipment Manufacturers Association of India (HOTREMAI), All India Food Processors Association (AIFPA), and Food & Hospitality Support Association of India (FHSAI).

The Prominent exhibitors at the fair are Coconut Development  Board, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat, Nessle India, Godrej Winterhalter India, Cothas Coffee, Blue Star, Rockwell  Industries, Frootel India, Adani  Wilmar, and FSSAI.

AAHAR Mumbai also features symposiums, workshops and seminars focusing on the small-to-mid-market hotel & resort category (1-3 star), which comprises 90% of industry. These include a symposium on ‘Invest West’ (October 12, 2017) for potential hotel owners-operators and seminar on ‘Ladies in Hospitality’ (October 13, 2017).
