| | The second Pune Wine Tasting Festival to be held on December 13 and 14, 2008 will feature more than 50 wines from 12 leading Indian wineries. The only show of its kind in the country, the weekend event hosted by the Pune Gourmet Club, will be held at Rohi Villa Palace at Koregaon Park in Pune.
Open from 11 am to six pm on both days, it will offer visitors an opportunity to participate in several allied activities and enjoy a range of gourmet food. “This is our attempt to provide wineries with an even playing field to showcase their wines to consumers,” says B Shankaranarayan of the Pune Gourmet Club. “A wide range of wines will be offered for tasting; among these are some that won the silver and bronze medals at the India Wine Challenge 2007 and 2008.” Wine Tasting Passes will include a souvenir wine glass, a 64 page wine guide and voting card. Guests under the age of 21 are allowed free admission, but must be accompanied by an adult.
