Online procurement start up for HoReCa, Adurcup, to expand their operations to more metro markets soon

Dedicated online procurement start up for Hotels, Restaurants and Catering (HoReCa), started by a group of young IIT’ians  almost two years ago, with large presence and penetration in the Delhi NCR market, will be looking at expanding their operations and services to key metro cities of Mumbai and Bengaluru in the coming year. Although the start up serves requirements of the restaurant industry in these metros now in a limited way with MOQs (Minimum Order Quantity), with the expansion, they will be able to service these markets without the MOQs, said Kumar Kushang, one of the Founders of Adurcup.

Started by offering food packaging services to the restaurant industry in the Delhi NCR, Adurcup today offer online vendor solutions in six verticals like housekeeping, pest control, social wi-fi services, payment solutions, non-perishable grocery segment, etc. “We are increasing the verticals every quarter. Our vision is to create a larger platform that can take care of each and every need ranging from napkins to groceries to food packaging and ultimately to setting up restaurants and operationalising it. We are looking forward to take care of the entire spectrum of industry,” he said.

Currently, Adurcup services restaurants in 2,000 locations in the Delhi NCR, connecting 700 to 800 branded restaurants with their daily procurement needs. Adurcup has multi-brand restaurant chains as their customers, Kushang said.

Kushang said that Adurcup tries to fill the “information gap” that exists between the buyer and seller in the market place. Restaurants today buy from multiple vendors and places and lack in terms of systems to do the cost analysis of their daily purchases. Adurcup collates information and creates a data on a daily basis thereby helping restaurateurs understand the cost better. He said that the company also tries to bridge the inconsistency in supplies which is a major issue for restaurants. Adurcup shortlists the best vendors in the market thereby help “cut down the number of layers” that exists in the supply chain, he added. “We also have our own logistics set up which takes care of the deliveries also,” he stated.

Adurcup is a pure online model where vendors are listed and their SKUs are listed on the platform and prices are quoted based on the order quantity to make transactions transparent.  The buyers choose the quantity and the location where delivery is required. Adurcup picks up the order from the sellers places and delivers at the buyers door step. In order to make sure the payments are happening on time, which is a major painpoint in B2B deals, Adurcup maps each and every transaction and make sure payments are done within the credit period extended by the seller to the buyer.
