India’s foreign exchange earnings from Tourism registers 20.8% growth in 2017

There has been 20.8% growth in foreign exchange earnings (FEE) from tourism in the year 2017 compared to 2016, as per the data released by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India based on the credit data of Travel Head from Balance of Payments of RBI.  


As per  estimates, FEEs from Tourism during 2017 were US$ 27.693 billion (INR 180,379) as against US$ 22.923 billion in 2016 with a growth of 20.8%. FEEs in US$ terms during the month of December 2017 were US$ 3.038 billion as compared to FEEs of US$ 2.439 billion during the month of December 2016, registering a growth of over 24%.
