As per a Taj Hotels release, more than 30 culinary experts from the Taj Group of Hotels will prepare special sit-down dinner hosted by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, at Davos in Switzerland later this month. The feast will be hosted during Prime Minister’s visit to Davos for attending the World Economic Forum (WEF) plenary session.

This will be the first participation by an Indian Prime Minister in the WEF in over two decades.

Set against the backdrop of the Forum, PM Modi will also host the feast for 120 guests on January 22.

The gala dinner will be curated and managed by 32 culinary experts and senior managers who are being specially flown in for the dinner, from various Taj hotels across India. The arrangements for the prestigious dinner began last month and every effort is being made to ensure an unmatched experience.

In the run up to the dinner, Taj Chefs from across India were assembled in Mumbai to curate an exclusive menu. Silverware has been carefully selected and special thalis and linens are being exported from India. The menu includes a traditional Indian thali meal with Zaffrani Faldari Kofta Curry, Dum Aloo Benarsi, Anardana Raita, Murgh Tariwala, Shikampuri Kebab and many other delectable dishes. Guests at the dinner can also indulge in signature Indian desserts such as Gajar Halwa Cake, Elaichi Bhappa Doi, Coconut Chikki and Sukhri Crumb.

Speaking on the preparations, Taljinder Singh, Area Director - Mumbai and General Manager, The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai said, “We are extremely honoured to have been given the opportunity to curate the evening hosted by our honourable Prime Minister at the World Economic Forum. To flawlessly execute and deliver an authentic Thali experience thousands of kilometers away has been a challenge that we have worked hard to overcome. Our expert chefs are ready and eagerly looking forward to presenting an authentic Indian experience in Davos for delegates from across the globe.”
