Meliá Hotels International, the leading Spanish hotel group, has recently announced the signing of four new properties in Vietnam, which includes two of the popular destinations in the country – the financial city of Ho Chi Minh and the tourist bay of Halong. The group will now have 10 properties including these four hotels. The company aims to draw benefits from the rising affluence, improved infrastructure and increased flight connectivity of the country, which is a booming tourism hotspot.

The three hotels sitting in Ho Chi Minh city’s center, District 1 are conveniently accessible with close proximity of six kilometres to Tan Son Nhat International Airport. The district is popular for its culinary offerings, shopping opportunities and spas. The city is a blend of culture and modernity, surrounded by colonial-era buildings and alley, ancient temples and traditional markets, alongside high-end boutiques and restaurants.

Meliá Saigon Central
Located on the banks of the Saigon River, the hotel will feature 75 rooms in the first phase and a total of 159 rooms upon completion. It is strategically located with major tourist attractions like Saigon Opera House, Reunification Palace, Saigon Central Post Office and Saigon Basilica in its vicinity. Offering a variety of dining options, swimming pool, MICE facilities and Meliá’s signature THE LEVEL executive lounge, Meliá Saigon Central will look to attract both leisure and business guests.

INNSIDE Saigon Central and INNSIDE Saigon Mariamman
The INNSIDE Saigon Central will open in 2018 with 72 rooms after the rebranding of the current Amena Suite Hotel Ton That Dam while the INNSIDE Saigon Mariamman will open in 2020 with 115 rooms after a renovation of the current Lavender Boutique hotel. Both properties are situated in the economic zone, close to the city’s must-see markets, nightlife and shopping malls
INNSIDE Halong Bay
On the flip side, the Company will also open its first hotel in Halong Bay, UNESCO World Heritage Site, known as Vietnam's most popular destination among foreign tourists. INNSIDE Halong Bay will open in 2019 offering 251 rooms, fitness center, swimming pool, spa, bar and 500 sq. m. of meeting space. The hotel will also be just a walk away from the new tourist attraction – Dragon Park, dubbed as the largest theme park in Southeast Asia.

Speaking on Vietnam’s growing potential as a destination for foreign travellers, Bernardo Cabot Estarellas, Senior Vice President Asia Pacific of Meliá Hotels International said, "Vietnam is quickly emerging as a top travel and business destination and is a big part of our strategic focus for Asia Pacific. In addition to our properties in Hanoi, Danang and Phu Quoc, we are thrilled to be bringing the Meliá and INNSIDE brands to Ho Chi Minh City and Halong Bay, and growing our offering to the customers in the region.”
