FoodEx2018 to have a concurrent Hospitality and Culinary Show this year

The 10th Anniversary of FoodEx to be held at BIEC, Bangalore from August 31 to Sept. 2

The organisers of FoodEx 2018, an annual international exposition of Food & Beverage products, Processing and Packaging Machinery, etc. has decided to add a new element to their annual show to mark the 10th anniversary of the show.


In FoodEx2018 which is slated to be held at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) in Bangalore from August 31 to September 2, there will be a Hotel, Restaurant & Catering (HRC) Expo running concurrently. Besides exhibition and product showcase relevant to the hospitality industry, HRC 2018 will host a culinary challenge all the three days with the active participation of chef community in the city and the region.  

According to organisers of the Expo, there will be culinary competitions on individual cold display, plated appetizers, 3-course dinner menu, artistic bakery showpiece, Chef panel discussion, etc. Chef Imtiaz Qureshi will be the Chief Guest and will inaugurate the competitions. An eminent panel of chefs comprising Chef Ramasamy Selvaraju, Executive Chef, Taj Yueshwantpur, Chef Shazia Khan, Master Chef India fame, Chef Nimish Bhatia, Founder, Nimisserie, Chef Anthony Huang, Executive Chef, Sheraton Grand Bangalore, among others will form the jury for the competition.  

FoodEx 2018 will also honour Chef Qureshi with Life time Achievement Award at the Award ceremony. 

“Bangalore as a market for the Hotel industry is very buoyant in terms of accommodation, food and beverage. Therefore, we decided that an event concurrent with our successful India FoodEx series can give further fillip to this sector. The title HRC represents the three wings of hospitality industry – Hotel, Restaurant and Catering,” said NB Naqvi, CEO of Media Today Group which organises the show. 

The HRC expo will see a congregation of a mix of hospitality industry such as industry professionals, chefs, kitchen and hotel equipment manufacturers and supplies etc., he added. Under the FoodEx series, there will be concurrent shows of allied sector related to agro and food industry like GrainTech India, DairyTech India, MeatTech Asia, SnackBev India, besides the newly introduced HRC 2018.
