Mixed use developments is the format to maximise land use

With the real estate prices at its all time high, most developers aimed to reap maximum benefits from their owned land assets in 2008.This has led to the increased demand for mixed use developments in India, projects which included the commercial, retail, residential and the hotel components. However, how attractive is this concept for brands, owners and investors? The opportunities in this segment were explored at Hotel Investment Forum India (HIFI) 2009.

Sudeep Jain, Executive Vice President and Country Head, Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels moderated the session while the panellists were Shishir Shrivastava, CEO – Hospitality and New Initiatives, Phoenix Hospitality Co Pvt Ltd; Ratnesh Verma, Senior Vice President – Real Estate and Development, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, Radhika Shastry, Managing Director, Group RCI – RCI India Pvt Ltd; Arif Rahman, Group Director Finance and Member of the Board, ETA – Ascon Star and Nikhil Manchharam, VP – Acquisitions and Development, Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels and Resorts.
