Informa, a publicly-owned event organising firm, has organised the India International Wine Fair and Gourmet Show in Mumbai. The event will take place from March 16-18, 2009 at the Grand Hyatt hotel. The India International Wine Fair (IIWF) is dedicated to wine, wine products and the wine sector in general.
The three-day trade show will showcase wine manufacturing, exports, distribution, marketing, refrigeration, equipment like glassware, storage and serving accessories, logistics solution providers and others. In a recent press release, Abhaey Singh, Managing Girector, Informa, said, “For a country that has produced wine for over 5000 years and which has over 1 20000 acres of vineyards, it is surprising that the Indian wine industry is relatively underdeveloped.”
“The booming economy, growing middle income group and ever changing consumer tastes and lifestyles has led the Indian wine market to grow at over 30 per cent per annum. We expect 10 million cases by the next decade,” added Singh. The IIWF event will also feature a three day B2B exhibition, two day India International Wine Summit, an exhibitor and media networking evening, |
