Dream Valley Group CEO, K Prithvi Reddy said the company is planning to promote golf tourism in the city by building four golf courses adjoining to 200 keys resorts in Hyderabad. After the group’s first successful venture with Vooty Golf County, which is the only riverside golf county in India and has earned good repute among the golfers in a short period of time, the management decided to promote golf tourism by building golf courses and resorts.
“We are planning to set up four golf courses in the North, South, East and Western parts of the city. The plan is to increase golf accessibility in the city. They will come with 200-room resorts as we are looking at promoting golf tourism,” Reddy said.
While speaking about the support from golfing fraternity, Reddy said he is affirmative about the general response. “They didn’t have confidence in us initially. We completed this project in only three years. There is a lot of potential for golf in Hyderabad which also is our hometown. In the last three decades, around 5,000 golfers emerged in the city out of which 1,000 are frequent players. The city now has only two golf courses. The city will emerge as golf tourist spot. IT boom is also helping us. Several golfers from the city appreciated us. So, there is good potential,” he added.
Vooty Golf County is an exclusive lifestyle project that integrated residential units with 18 holes championship golf course in Vikarabad built in over 100 acres. They recently hosted the Secunderabad Club Tournament and are the presenting partners of the Golconda Masters to be held in February. Vooty Golf County was designed by Pacific Coast Design, an Australian company, with leading architects Phil Ryan and Paul Reeves.
Informing about the future goals of the group, Reddy stated that, the group is looking forward to seeing more events in the golf course. “Every week, we have 30 Koreans playing in Vooty. We are confident that, by 2030, Hyderabad will house at least eight to nine golf courses,” he concluded.
