According to the Economic Times, Samosa Singh, a snacking startup founded in 2016, has announced a pilot association with Reliance's grocery store chain - Smart Superstores, to offer a tailor-made menu to Reliance grocery store customers, it said in a statement.

“Our aim has always been to appeal to the masses and for them to enjoy Samosa with the convenience of being available anytime, anywhere. This association helps us further our goal of reintroducing the new generation to Samosa, a snack Indians have relished across generations,” said Shikhar Veer Singh, Co-founder & CEO, Samosa Singh.

Launching the pilot project with a few Reliance Smart stores in Bengaluru, the snacking startup aims to expand the association to other stores gradually, said Samosa Singh. The company will offer an array of Indian street foods and samosas including Samosa Singh's favourite masala corn samosa and achaari aaloo stuffed kulchas, it added.

“Citizen Customers expect modern, interesting, food ideas from a platform like SMART Superstore. Food in India is full of exciting possibilities. Providing a platform to an innovative startup like Samosa Singh comes naturally to Reliance Smart. I am said it will add one more reason that makes shopping at SMART, more interesting.” said Damodar Mall, CEO, Grocery Retail, Reliance Retail.

Earlier this year, the snack startup raised funding worth Rs 17 Crore in a Series A funding round led by She Capital and aimed to scale up its operations, increase its production capabilities, and expand in multi-cities, while also allowing it to enter the households through their quick delivery via cloud kitchen model.

Under the leadership of its founders Shikhar Veer Singh and Nidhi Singh, Samosa Singh claims to have sold more than 20 million units and aims to expand its footprint across the southern part of India in the upcoming year.

The company recently opened a store at the Bangalore international airport and also has partnered with brands such as INOX, PVR Cinemas, and Café Coffee Day, among others, the company said.
