Best Western India signs its first property in Goa

Terminates contract with Bengaluru and Moradabad hotels

Best Western India has recently signed two resort properties in Goa. The resort, which is expected to be operational by August 2009, will be Best Western India’s flagship property in Goa. Best Western India has signed another property in Trivandrum. All three properties have been signed under franchise agreements. However, Best Western India has terminated its franchise agreements with The Capitol Bangalore and Hotel Holiday Regency Moradabad.

The 400 room 'Best Western Peace Valley' in Quepem in Goa will become operational phase-wise. The first phase, which entails around 60 rooms, is scheduled to be functional by August 2009. Another 177 room property, 'Best Western Devasthali' near Goa Airport, will be operational by end 2009. The 60 room property at Thampanoor in Trivandrum is already operational; after the franchise agreement, it will be branded as 'Best Western Classic Avenue'.

Speaking exclusively to Hospitality Biz, Sudhir Sinha, President and Chief Operating Officer, Best Western India said, “Best Western Peace Valley is our first property in Goa. However, both properties are between the four to five star categories.
