Hotels rolls out sanitised red carpets for guest

Thursday, January 21, 2021, 10:26 Hrs  [IST]

According to the Bengaluru Mirror,  Crippled by covid-19, the new year is starting on a brighter note for hospitality sector with a big global event like Aero India being held in the city.

This year too a number of global and local companies are participating in the show and a large number of visitors from India and abroad will be in Bengaluru during the event.

Though the magnitude of the show has been reduced in terms of days and numbers, luxury hotels in the city are gearing for the event.

“ITC Gardenia is looking forward to Aero India, this time more so given the current scenario. Occupancy rates look buoyant as of now and we are expecting the demand to further rise - closer to date as the international markets are picking up,” said Amaan Kidwai, General Manager, ITC Gardenia.

Hotels said quite a few reservations have been made by companies and that packages have been made to cater to their needs. “There has been a good number of reservations at The Ritz-Carlton, Bengaluru for Aero India, primarily from domestic travellers. We have nicely packaged inclusions and rates to cater to their needs. It is understandable that the reservations are fewer this year, but, it is promising and in good stead,” said Amitabh Rai, general manager, The Ritz-Carlton, Bengaluru.

With a number of visitors expected from contries that have seen a surge in Covid-19 cases of late, the hotels are following stringent health and safety measures. “We stand apart from other hotels by following stringent health and safety measures at ITC Hotels with our path-breaking WeAssure initiative. We have curated topical stay experiences for those days at our hotel coupled with our unique dining offerings, keeping the well-being and safety of our guests in mind,” said Kidwai.

Rai said they have stringent implementation of sanitisation and safety protocols with the Marriott International Commitment to Clean programme. “These measures are in accordance with the guidelines as mandated by the authorities. This encompasses training and implementation of the processes by the team across areas on the new protocols, safety and sanitation measures. Every department is aligned to follow the updated standard operating procedures,” added Rai.

Yash Bareria, director of catering sales, JW Marriott Hotel, Bengaluru said restaurants would cater to the food and beverage needs of the visitors at the show and the aerospace companies would set up chalets
