AHAR meets Maharashtra CM on licence fees for the industry

A delegation of AHAR (Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association) led by president Shivanand Shetty met with Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray at Varsha, CM’s official residence on waiver of BMC licence fees during the lockdown period and easy instalment payment of Excise licence fees. AHAR also apprised Chief Minister about the steps taken to support Government in its fight against Covid-19.   

Shivanand Shetty said, “We are very thankful to Chief Minister for taking time out from his busy schedule and meeting us to discuss issues raised by AHAR on waiver of BMC licence fees during the period of lockdown when our businesses were shut and also how to facilitate easy instalment payment of Excise licence fees.  He has assured his support and personal attention to the issues raised and how it can be resolved in the best interest of the industry. We also informed him as to how we have formed 40 squads to maintain vigil at restaurants and ensure SOPs are followed to make restaurants more safer place to visit.”

The meeting was also attended by Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, Excise Minister Dilip Walse Patil, Anil Parab, Sunil Prabhu and principal secretary Valsa Nair Singh.
