As per a recent report from TechSci Research, the Indian hotel market is projected to grow from around $ 7.5 billion in 2019 to $ 16.8 billion by 2025, exhibiting a CAGR of nearly 15% during the forecast period.
The market is expected to grow on account of rising urbanization, increasing foreign and domestic tourist arrivals, coupled with growing disposable income in the country.
In the coming years, the market shall be positively affected by the increasing young working population and a rising number of dual-income families. The industry needs qualified personnel across all levels. Given that context, feeding, and building the talent pipeline is crucial. Mitali Rawool, Assistant Director, Zista Education says, “We are delighted to organize the 4th edition of the Global Hospitality Education Expo. Over time, it has become extremely popular with students who aspire to build a career in the culinary and hospitality space. The first edition of this went live in 2018 as an in-person event in Mumbai and Delhi. We took the expo to 5 cities, Mumbai, Jaipur, Kolkata, Delhi, and Bangalore, in 2019. In 2020, we pivoted to a virtual format. I was amazed to see the sheer appetite and interest of Indian students for a hospitality-focused event. Our virtual fair received registrations from 425+ cities and towns and 690+ schools and institutes across India. In other words, we were able to reach and make a positive impact on students in remote areas and tier 3 cities, not just the metros. GHEE 2021 is our 4th edition, having already received 2000+ student registrations for our virtual fair. The number keeps increasing every day. Like we witnessed in 2020, students are signing up from across the length and breadth of India for this edition. They will interact with 17 leading hotel and culinary schools and hear from some industry and academic speakers.”
