Award-winning resto-bar Butterfly High in Mumbai has recently opened its second outlet in the heart of Thane. The resto-bar boasts 3500 sq. ft. of a millennial manor and is the brainchild of Nikita Poojari & Narayan Poojari, the owner of Shiv Sagar Food and Resort Pvt. Ltd. The cosmopolitan hangout spot brings its intriguing blend of modern Indian cuisine, inexhaustible portfolio of cocktails, and eccentric interiors, with an exclusive menu. Asmita Mukherjee spoke with Nikita Poojari, Owner, Shiv Sagar Food and Resort Pvt. Ltd to know more about their plans for the brand. While speaking about the USP of Butterfly High, which makes it stand apart from the other restaurant brands that Poojari owns, she informed, “Butterfly High is a social networking bar. We cater to young adults, working professionals, as well as, families. Its eccentric décor, modern Indian fusion menu along crafted cocktails at economical prices makes it a resto-bar that caters to people looking to relax, and have a good time post work, as well as, people who want to use it as a space to work and network out of. As compared to a Shiv Sagar, which is a local comfort food option for all.”
Before choosing Thane as the second home for Butterfly High, Poojari and her team did a lot of research. She explains, “We have been running restaurants in the Thane market for more than 10 years now, and we’ve seen massive growth there. After the success of Butterfly High in BKC, the next best option was, Thane as we saw great potential there. We did our research and assessed what would work for us. According to our data, we realised that Butterfly High would do well in a location like Thane. We do have plans to expand outside of Maharashtra and make Butterfly High a pan India brand, however at the moment we are focusing on capturing markets closer to home.” Speaking on the expansion plans for Butterfly High, Poojari explained, “We are a self-funded company, and we plan to keep our brand under our own wing for the foreseeable future. We are not looking at funding, as we want to keep the brands in the family and run it like we have been doing so for over a decade. We have a format in which we handle operations, marketing etc, and we make sure we meet our monthly and yearly goals to keep our brands growing and expanding. Although our expansion plans were disrupted due to COVID, we are finally back on track with our goal of opening 2 new outlets of Butterfly High every year.”
Commenting on the regaining of customer confidence after COVID-19, Poojari said “We have noticed a massive surge in people eating out after the lull over the past 12 to 18 months. Now that a large part of the population in Maharashtra has got vaccinated, people are more comfortable stepping out for a meal, especially to places that are following the COVID 19 protocols. Another factor for this surge is that a lot of offices and schools have partially opened out and people now want to indulge in post-work/college leisure activities.”
