Rakkh Resort, a luxury destination resort in Palampur in Himachal Pradesh, has done extensive additions and will now offer new amenities, activities and experiences to guests.

Eight luxury cottages are added to the property, with an unobstructed view of the pine forest and mountains on one side and kitchen garden and valley on the other side, from the double-sided balconies. These ‘Forest Cottages’ also feature bathtubs and rainfall showers in bathrooms with a mesmerizing view of forest. The Resort, which is perched on top of a hill across a 5½ acres property and with the pristine backdrop of the Dhauladhar snowcapped ranges, earlier had fifteen cottages and two interconnecting rooms.

Sky Cycling is introduced for the adventure enthusiasts. Suspended between two steel cables high above the ground, one to harness the rider and the other, a track for the special wheels to roll on, sky cycling is an adrenaline junkie’s ultimate bucket-list thing to do. Located high in the foothills of the Himalayas at a breathtaking altitude of 5200 feet and the suspension cables at a height of 50 feet from ground level, the sky cycling experience at Rakkh Resort is one of the highest in India. All necessary safety measures are taken to provide an exciting yet safe experience to the customers.

Rakkh Resort has introduced a new DIY (Do It Yourself) station as an extension of its current DIY activities, making it a destination resort for families and groups of friends alike. DIY food experiences encourage the guests to bond with their families and test their culinary skills, with options for all age groups, encompassing pizza, BBQ, cotton candy, and various blends of local Kangra tea. This is an extension to the existing DIY stations - Fresh Juice, Maggie & Egg and Chulha Chai.

Rakkh Resort is blessed to have natural spring of water at several places within the resort. A dedicated water hut is built now for the guests to stay hydrated with the mineral rich nutritious spring water coming directly from the Himalayan mountains, sand purified and UV filtered, stored in the traditional matkas and take-away bottles. Additionally, Hydration points are added throughout the Resort, with local Kangra tea to quench the guests’ thirst.

Rakkh Resort has also enhanced its spa, “Baanka” (translates to Beauty in Himachali), a fine wellness offering by Tattva Spa. It has two private and one couple treatment rooms with state-of-the-art amenities and world-class treatments to indulge all senses and pamper guests seeking wellness therapies. Another soon-to-be-launched addition to the property is an all-weather outdoor swimming pool to enjoy a dip, surrounded by snow-capped Dhauladhar mountains while overlooking Kangra valley when the temperature plummets or dive into after a long tiring trek on a hot summer day. The swimming pool will be functional by the first week of May.

An indoor sports arena with foosball, air hockey, snooker, chess, etc., a lounge that offers stunning views of the valley and a perfect spot for workation as well as a warm and cozy living room, which is a common space for families and friends to hangout, are other noteworthy features that have been introduced at Rakkh Resort. In the near future, a space will be added at the Resort for local artisans and craftsmen to display their products and share their stories and inspiration with the guests.

Explaining the reason for such an extensive enhancement, Rakkh Resort’s General Manager Ms Swati Makkar said, “Rakkh has always been a destination resort. Catering to all age and interest groups, it has endeared itself to a huge fan following. We have a good mix of repeat customers along with new guests. This is a matter of pride as much as it is a challenge. To keep the guests loyal and coming back for more, we have to redefine, innovate and enhance our offerings at regular intervals. Keeping our loyal guests happy is our driving force. We endeavor to transform Rakkh into a destination resort attracting tasteful travelers who come seeking fun, adventure, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Every addition is balanced so that each member of the family or friends’ group has something that deeply interests them.”

Away from the bustle of tourist attractions and city life, Rakkh is an ideal location. Guests may expect a barefoot luxury experience at this adventure and immersive resort, which seeks to provide a haven for those seeking an authentic mountain experience. The guests can connect with nature and local culture through nature walks, treks, biking, bird watching, immersive village experience, pottery, weaving, cultural evenings with culinary feast and much more. Soft adventure activities such as wall climbing, archery and slacklining, which offer excitement without the component of risk, have also been curated to engage guests of all ages. The team of experts and naturalists at the Resort have scouted every route, track and trail possible, identifying each of them as hiking, biking and trekking routes leading to some hidden gems of idyllic Himachal.
