US firm USAID interested to invest in tourism in Pokhara, Nepal

US-based organisation, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has expressed its willingness to invest into the tourism sector of Pokhara, a tourist destination of Nepal. USAID has sent a representative Marcus Muller, from international consultant firm of the US named Delight.

According to a report in nepalnews.com, Muller was informed about the tourism-related areas of Pokhara valley, which offer viable investment opportunities. According to Govinda Raj Pahari, President, Western Hotel Association of Pokhara, Muller was also briefed about the natural, cultural and historical richness of Pokhara and the Annapurna region. He was also informed about the immense commercial viability of adding ‘man-made’ entertainment zones like Fun Park, Water Park and. Bunjee Jumping in Pokhara.

As per data, a huge number of those visiting Pokhara tend to opt for hiking in the Annapurna region. The association also informed about the potential investment avenues in the region.
