With an aim to provide a fillip to Daman and Diu’s tourism sector, Omnibus Industrial Development Corporation (OIDC) has currently undertaken several tourism infrastructure development projects on a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) basis. The proposed developments in Diu will include a five-star hotel, convention centre, golf course, resort homes and an amusement park. OIDC is working closely with Diu’s tourism authority and has acquired the permission for proposed development from the Planning Commission.

Currently, OIDC has opened the first level of bidding process. The applicant’s bid scrutiny is likely to take place over the next couple of months. The tourism infrastructure development in Diu will take place in two phases. The first phase is expected to last for three years, which will include the development of the golf course and convention centre. The hotel and amusement park are also likely to be developed during this period. Work in the second phase of development will take place during the next two years.
