A two-day national conference on ‘Hospitality Industry: Developments & Challenges’ was recently held at MM Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Mullana, Ambala. Speaking at the valedictory of the two-day national conference, Jaideep Singh, General Manager, Human Resources (Corporate), Jaypee Hotels said that two important attributes, attitude and soft skill, which are essential for hospitality jobs, are lacking among the students, who are churned out by the hospitality institutes today. He also said that the knowledge level of the students were not up to the desired levels.
He stated, “Leadership, conviction and commitment are three qualities that the hospitality institutes need to focus and inculcate.” Singh urged the students to look at ‘KASH’ – Knowledge, Attitude, Skill and Habit – rather than lured by ‘cash’.
