In a latest development, JetLite; the wholly owned subsidiary of Jet Airways India Ltd. has commenced operations of its new online booking engine. The portal currently offers air travel bookings and travel insurance services. It is soon going to incorporate hotel and car rental facilities on its portal to provide complete travel booking experience to end consumers. Currently, the airline is evaluating a set of aggregators to provide hotel and car rental database.
Talking about the forthcoming hotel and car rental product on JetLite portal, Belson Coutinho, General Manager – eCommerce and Innovations, Jet Airways said, “We are constantly evaluating various models to enhance the online booking experience for our end users. Through our new booking engine, we have the flexibility and control over the portal, thus we may add new products, services and facilities as per the demand in the market. We are looking at incorporating hotel and car rental inventory on our portal so that the travellers can book their flight, as well as their accommodation at the same platform. |
