Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) will soon offer organic food in its hotels and restaurants by constructing poly-houses on experimental basis. HPTDC will build poly-houses at its Palace hotel in Chail and Barog and will cultivate vegetables for in-house consumption.

According to a report in himachallive.com, this information was given by Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh during HPTDC’s 124th Board of Directors meeting in Shimla recently.

Dhumal said the demand for organic farm produce is increasing and the same could be instrumental in attracting tourists to visit various HPTDC hotels. Tourists can witness cultivation of the farm produce under controlled climatic conditions and cherish the same as local cuisines while staying at HPTDC hotels.

Dhumal emphasised the need for regular skill upgradation of HPTDC staff and develop professional skills so as to keep pace with the global hospitality industry. He said that there is a need to closely monitor the global hospitality marketing trends and adopt the same to boost commercial activities in the organisation.
