Kott Software has developed the first end-to-end enterprise level integrated web-based application – Aero Chef for the flight catering industry. Presently, Kott is in the process of exploring opportunities in the Indian and overseas market. Aero Chef will offer two solutions namely Flight Catering Management System (FKMS) and Airline Catering Management System (ACMS). Aero Chef primarily covers the core business functions and helps to manage the supply chain and customer relations.

According to Mohan Mathew, Director- Business Development, Kott Software Pvt Ltd, “There is no ‘tailor made’ enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution for the flight catering industry today. Aero Chef intends to fill this void by servicing the needs of the in-flight caterers and the airline industry as well. The Indian flight catering market is made up of eight major players and a few local/ niche in flight caterers, but we foresee significant potential in the overseas market. We have successfully tested Aero Chef’s FKMS solution with Kerala-based Casino Air Caterers over the past one year and now we are in the process of unveiling the ACMS solution for the airlines.”

The software modules include control room - operations management, contracts management, menu management, recipe builder, kitchen management, stores and inventory management, dispatch, offloading, invoicing, payroll processing, financial accounting and various other related functions. Extensive Management Information Systems (MIS) reports and business intelligence reports form a core part of the application.

Aero Chef will be priced at par with other ERP solutions like SAP and Oracle. However, Kott intends to be competitive in its pricing. Clients will need to pay an initial software acquisition fee at the time of purchase. Kott is also exploring other pricing and partnerships options for marketing Aero Chef, informed Mathew.
