Halotherapy at Shamana Spa, Grand Hyatt Goa

A concept derived from the Greek word ‘Halos’, an alternate form of medicine, which was used by the ancient Greeks. The treatment includes use of Himalayan pink salt blocks that detox and rejuvenate the body holistically. These blocks of salt are hygroscopic and act as natural ionizers, fostering the exchange of negative ions. When used in enclosed spaces, the salt blocks attract water vapour and other impure particles in the air. This helps purify the air and creates an antibacterial environment. The blocks, when heated, releases negative ions that increase the oxygen supply to the brain, helping you feel invigorated. Shamana Spa under the expert guidance of Alexandro Leo, Director of Spa and Recreation at Grand Hyatt Goa has mastered this art and included the use of these beneficial salt blocks in their sauna room and fitness centre making it a 360-degree healing and treatment room.

The first of its kind in Goa, the salt sauna room at Shamana Spa is lined with pure mineral Himalayan salt blocks. The sauna and heated salt blocks balance the damage caused by negative living conditions and improves many bodily functions. The fitness centre with the salt wall warrants that Yoga or any fitness activities in the room is directed toward bringing awareness to your breath. This practice is very helpful for those with respiratory issues or other energy imbalances. This age-old treatment is most de-stressing and detoxifying. Combined with the sauna room and fitness centre, the therapy assists in reducing stress and headaches, increases energy, and improves sleep patterns.

The essence of Shamana Spa is to create a perfect balance between well-being and lifestyle for a youthful you. Being the largest spa in the region, Shamana Spa houses 19 spa treatment suites.
