Leading By Association
The dictionary defines an association as ‘groups of individuals who voluntarily enter into an agreement to accomplish a purpose.’ But often an association is formed to address grievances. And if the ‘the groups of individuals’ do not agree, then another association is formed. This has been the blueprint the world over and not new to the hospitality industry. Earlier, in the hospitality industry, only the hotel owners or the bigwigs were members of the associations. The others did not have any representations. Now chefs, housekeepers, purchase managers, engineers, IT professionals, HR managers, concierge, F&B managers etc have their own associations. In the hospitality industry, other than the association of the kitchen stewards, probably all other associations exist. more>>
