The new government has completed one month in office. The first 30 days were more or less eventless. The only controversial decision that came from the new government was to jack up rail passenger fares ahead of the budget. Although there were reports that the Prime Minister had tasked each Minister to prepare a 100-day agenda for their department, it seems most of them are still on their ‘honeymoon’ period. Meanwhile, the first Union Budget of the Modi government is closely watched by the corporate world. The deliberations and consultations have begun in right earnest from day one.
