Shipra Khanna, Celebrity Chef
From a small town housewife to a celebrity chef, Shipra Khanna’s rise as a culinary champion could be described as akin to a meteor. An economics and psychology graduate, Khanna started to cook when she was just nine-years-old, and honed her skills while cooking for her family, and the special dietary needs of her daughter. The turning point in her life was in 2012 when she won the MasterChef India (season 2) title. Since then, Khanna’s romance with culinary has grown - from travelling across the globe for promoting Indian food, receiving privileged tutelage from Michelin star chefs - Atul Kochar and Alain Passard, writing her own cookbook ‘Spice Route’ along with hosting her TV show – Pure Sin. Her show, K for Kids also lies ahead. Khanna is based in Mumbai, and is on a pan-India sojourn, which she describes as the “re-discovery of India and the many regional culinary treasures.” Shipra also opened her restaurant - House of Taste in Ahmedabad, and has also been appointed by Cox and Kings, and Tourism Australia as their Culinary Connoisseur.
